DoFu Delight® is an Agar (seaweeds) based Asian jelly dessert.

Seaweed jelly dessert is one of many favorite Asian treats. Making such dessert from scratch has been a time consuming chore, from getting individual ingredients to preparation. In the past, it is only found in better Asia restaurants and prepared-food stores. Unfortunately, the ready-made jelly is usually too delicate for long-term storage and transport, making it hard for everyday enjoyment.

DoFu Delight® has reduced the chore to a breeze. It has all the needed ingredients in one package. You can make these Asian favorites in less than 30 minutes - fresh, cool and exciting - for all occasions! (See recipes).

Product information

Ingredients - seaweed extracts (Agar-agar¹ and/or in combination with Carrageenan²), sugar, gelatin, flavors, and FD&C approved food colors.

1. Agar-agar is a natural, seaweed extract. It is high in fiber (about 80%). Agar-agar is also commonly known as Kanten (Japanese Gelatin), Agal-Agal, China grass, or Isigrass in various part of Asia. Agar-agar is obtained from seaweeds of Gelidium and Gracilaria, chiefly from Asia, Chile and California.

2. Carrageenan is another natural seaweed extract. Similar to Agar-agar, it is a good source for fiber. Carrageenan is obtained from red seaweeds, Rhodophycae. The seaweeds also known as "Irish moss".

Flavors - Natural and/or artificial flavors.

Color - FD&C approved natural and/or artificial colors.

Production - Product of U.S.A., Since 1979. DoFu Delight® is manufactured in plants licensed by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Market. The plants are certified by Guelph Food Technology Centre of Canada, meeting SQF 2000^cm CODE, Level 2, HACCP Food Safety Plans.

Expiration Date: Best within 3 years from production. Product is still useable for up to 5 years when stored in cool dry place; the flavor intensity may be reduced. The Best By date*: "BB mmddyy" is printed on the top (or bottom) of the box. To assure freshness and the best quality, we schedule frequent small batch production to make sure most products on the market shelves are within 1 year of production.

*On certain productions the Manufacturing date is stamped on the bottom of the box, using Julian date coding system.
How to decipher the code: The code consists of a 3-digit number and 3 letters. The number and the first 2 letters indicate the production date. The number gives the day of the year; the following 2 letters give the last two digits of the year. Example: Code - 001JGA means the first day of the year (Jan. 1). J is the tenth letter and G is the 7th letter of the alphabet, the last two digit of the year is 07 (or year 2007). The production date is : Jan. 1, 2007.
